About this Trip

 

Baja California. Place where the open Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. Place that promises some of the most interesting interactions with marine life. Get carried away on an expedition with mobula rays, whale sharks, dolphins, sea lions, blue whales, striped marlins and more.

 

3 destinations full of interactions with underwater life. We will start our expedition in Cabo San Lucas, where we will spend the day on a boat looking for mobula rays, wild dolphins and we might even spot a blue whale.

 

The next day we will drive to La Paz, where we will swim in a big sea lion colony and play with their curious pups. Here, too, we will have a chance to observe whales, mobula rays, and rare species of birds.

For the end of the expedition, we will drive to Magdalena Bay, where the second largest sardine run in the world takes place. Striped marlins, a large number of sea lions, mahi-mahi and other fish follow the sardines to feed on them. Whales also come here this time of the year and if we're lucky, we'll encounter a Fin whale or a Bryde's whale.

 

Our mission is to protect the underwater world, educate people of all generations and explore the treasures the ocean hides in its depths. ITINERARY:

 

Day 1

Cabo San Lucas - Meeting, briefing and accommodation

We will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel in Cabo San Lucas. In the afternoon, you will get a brief introduction to the adventures that await you in the next days. The expedition will start the next morning.

Day 2

Cabo San Lucas - Snorkeling with mobula rays a wild dolphins

In the morning, we will pick you up at the hotel and we will drive to the marina. We will jump on a private boat and spend our time looking for schools of mobulas and pods of wild dolphins to swim with. During the trip, we will also have the chance to encounter blue whales, the largest animals in the world, and various sharks.

Day 3

La Paz - Sea of ​​Cortez

In the morning we move to La Paz, a city located on the shore of the Sea of Cortez. We will spend the day on the boat, swim in a large colony of sea lions, and play with their curious cubs. Whale sharks, the largest plankton-eating fish in the world, come here this time of the year too. We will enjoy lunch on a white sandy beach in a beautiful blue lagoon and on our way back to the port we will observe rare birds and other animals that we meet in this area full of marine life.

Day 4

Magdalena Bay

In the morning we will head to Magdalena Bay, from where we will have access to the open Pacific Ocean. Along the way, we will observe the beautiful colours of the Mexican desert full of enormous cacti. In the evening we will go over a briefing about the sardine run - huge schools of sardines that attract marlins, sea lions, whales and other large animals to the area.

Day 5

Magdalena Bay - Mexican sardine run

We will spend this day on a boat, and by watching the activity of seabirds, we will locate the schools of sardines. The sardines school together for protection. They create a living, moving ball of fish. The marlins push the bait to the surface, then attack it from below. When we find the spot of this action, we jump into the water. This marlins grow to 420cm in length and weigh up to 200kg. It is an unforgettable experience to watch these beautiful animals going after a bait ball right in front of your eyes.

Magdalena Bay - Mexican sardine run

Another day spent on a boat watching and snorkeling with incredible animals that sardines attract to these waters. Nothing can be promised in nature, but we can encounter following species: large number of californian sea lions, mahi-mahi, wahoos, tunas, sailfish, orcas, fin whales, Bryde’s whales, humback whales, dolphins and various species of birds.

Den 7

La Paz – White sand beach

We will spend the last day of the expedition in La Paz and its surroundings. We will visit the beautiful Balandra bay with white sand beach and crystal clear turquoise water. We will explore the small beaches along the bay on kayaks.

Day 8

End of the expedition, transfer to the airport or your accommodation in Cabo San Lucas.
